Project Requirement
Diageo required a full mechanical services installation for a new-build transportation office which included:
- Open-plan office spaces
- Cellular offices
- New-build welfare facilities
The client specification called for:
- Heat recovery VRF air conditioning
- Total Heat Exchange (THE) ventilation unitsproviding filtered fresh air
- Centralised control interface
7-day timeclock scheduling for energy management
- Detailed initial design survey of the new-build structure
- Full design and build mechanical drawings
- System selection and technical specification
- Coordination with all trades and PC main contractor
- Construction of a bespoke plant area for external condensers
- 2 No. Samsung heat recovery VRF systems
- External condensing units mounted on a Big Foot frame system, complete with fire bat protection and sealed penetrations
- Internal fan coil units comprising:
- 600 x 600 4-way blow cassette units
- Samsung Wind-Free wall-mounted FCUs
- Total Heat Exchange ventilation units, each delivering 12 l/s per personof filtered fresh air
- Individual room controllers for each cellular office with ±3°C adjustment from a setpoint of 21°C
- Samsung central controllerwith:
- 7-day scheduling
- Automated stop signals to prevent unnecessary operation
- Integrated control of both VRF and THE systems
